My research focuses on the discovery, characterization, and biological significance of natural products. I am interested in understanding how chemical diversity evolves across biodiversity and how metabolites shape ecological interactions, biological activity, and human use of biodiversity. Throughout my academic and industrial career, I have combined phytochemistry, analytical chemistry, and metabolomics to investigate natural products from tropical biodiversity, ranging from the isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds to the large-scale exploration of chemical diversity. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, I investigate the chemical diversity of Amazonian plants by integrating untargeted LC-MS metabolomics with biodiversity and ethnobotanical data to better understand the distribution of plant chemical traits and their relationships with traditional plant knowledge.
