In my master's thesis, I am investigating changes in vegetation in the steppe regions of Valais over the past 20 years. In addition, I am developing ways to recreate this vegetation as naturally as possible in the Zurich Botanical Garden.

To this end, I am comparing current vegetation surveys with those conducted in the early 2000s as part of the national survey of dry meadows and pastures (TWW). This will provide a better understanding of climatic and anthropogenic influences on these sensitive habitats. The results will also serve as a basis for the design of a corresponding habitat area in the Zurich Botanical Garden.
